El Segundo Community Information

El Segundo is a city located on the Santa Monica Bay in Los Angeles County. It was incorporated on January 18, 1917 and was originally thought of as an oil town. With its location close to the Los Angeles international airport it contains many industries including some of the following; computer systems, aircraft parts, telephone apparatus, office machines, and refined oil products. Some other major parts of the economy are the Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Chevron Oil refinery. The last recorded population count in 2000 was 16,033.
